Slipcase Sets – Bundles CDs or DVDs Discs, Multidisc Set Packaging, Vinyl Records, Books

We manufacture custom Slipcase Sets to fit whatever is in your set. For example you may have discs in digipaks, or a paper book set, or vinyl records. The slipcase goes around the inner packaging and any books or booklets in the set. As with all of our titles, we make the packaging to our client’s specification. These aren’t pre-made somewhere else, so we are able to customize the height and width and manufacture them to the exact size you need. 

Slipcase Dimensions

• Heights: 5″, 7″, 9″and 10″ are popular heights
  • CD / 5 Inch Height ar good fit for jackets,  jewelcases and digipaks (cd slipcase sets).
  • DVD / 7 Inch Height is good for tall jackets, amaray cases,  and digipaks (dvd slipcase sets).
  • Tall 9 and 10 Inch Heights are usually for portfolio folders, jackets or double height digipaks.
  •  Even Taller Heights are available too, for example, a slipcase set for 9 x 12″ Folder Sets.
  • Vinyl Record Height 12×12″ for  vinyl LPs.
  • Book Heights 5×8, 6×9″, or just about any size you’d like to make.
• Widths are made to hold whatever it is the set will be holding. Usually we are making the inner packaging as well (digipaks, jackets, covers, LPs, books, booklets, notebooks, etc.) so we can make sure all the components line up. 
  

  Construction Options for Slipcases

• Single or Double Wall Construction – choose double wall if you want some of the material overlapped to the inside (also called “Lined“)
• Tube Style, side or top/bottom pass through
• Side Loading, One Spine Open
• Completely Enclosed Box Style with a tuck flap
• Thumbnotches or pull ribbons to help ease a product out of the slipcase.
  

  Printing & Special Effects on Slipcases

• Slipcases are usually full color, 4C Printed, but can be PMS printed as well.
• Fun special effects include Foil Stamping, Embossing / Debossing, and Spot UV Gloss

Slipcase Materials – Artcard vs Rigid Chipboard

Artcard Slipcases are very popular for disc and movie releases, as well as vinyl and books. The are predominately the type of slipcases you see in retail settings. A key feature is that they fold flat. 
Rigid chipboard slipcases are more sturdy. They have a rigid chipboard core material that is wrapped with a print or material. Generally these types of boxes only come pre-formed and do not fold flat, however we can make them with a peel and stick tape that allows the product to ship flat with final assembly by the client. 

Artcard Slipcases

• Material: The paper stock thickness starts at about 15/16pt or 310gsm and goes up to 18pt, 21pt, or higher. Lamination is another way to add thickness. 
• Printing: The artcard is printed 4C, usually just on the outside.
• Construction: Single or double wall, tube, side loading, nesting set, etc. A key feature is that the slipcases can fold flat.
• Paper stock options: You can choose from standard coated white paper for crisp images, or a matte uncoated white, or even a fun, funky organic fiberboard.
• Die Cuts are a fun effect and can be used to create windows to the packaging underneath.

• Material / Printing: The core material is a rigid chipboard (like a text book or cigar box) which gives the product sturdiness. The chipboard is wrapped with either a 4C print, or a special material or fabric.
  • Linen is a wide weave fabric that is suitable for simple 1C art.
  • Fabric Paper is a finer weave of linen and works for more complex or 4C art.
  • Leather (vegan) is a classic look that can be foil stamped or debossed, but not printed with ink. 
• Construction: These boxes are usually fully formed, however if you are ordering just the boxes from us and not the inside products (discs, books, vinyl, etc.) we can do a special self-assembly construction with double sided tape that allows the product to ship flat to you. When you insert the final products into the box, you simply remove the peel and stick tape backing to form the box.
